Top 5 Backpack Safety Tips


As the kids head back to school, we would like to share a few safety tips regarding backpack safety. Unfortunately, many school aged kids and teenagers carry backpacks that weigh up to 25% of their body weight or more. This not only affects their overall structure and posture but can cause issues that may negatively impact their classroom and on-field performance.

  1. Always wear both straps.
  2. Choose packs with wide, padded straps.
  3. The backpack should weigh less than 10% of the child’s weight.
  4. The backpack should not hang more than 4 inches below their waist.
  5. Leave unnecessary items in the desk or lockers.
